Voyageur canoes Cheemaun and Miranda on Bow Creek at Tuckenhay between Totnes and Dartmouth in South Devon

For all ages and ability, why not try guided 12-seat Voyager canoeing offering you excellent fun on the wonderful River Dart in South Devon year round.  The youngest crew to date was little Sarah, aged 12 days; the eldest was Mr George, 87.

Canoe Adventures work from and to the slipway beside the friendly Maltsters Arms  at Tuckenhay (TQ9 7EH) halfway between Totnes and Dartmouth, at the head of Bow Creek on the west bank of the glorious Dart.

The Voyager canoes, aka Voyageur, are big and strong and easy to use. Each one comes with steersman-guide, and full canoeing equipment is supplied.  Everyone is invited to bring picnics, sometimes BBQs, and often they stop across the river at Stoke Gabriel for ice cream.  It is ideal for families with children, for people who gently want to try canoeing, for bold adventurers who've done it before, and for everyone who loves the water and an amazingly beautiful place like the Dart.

No previous experience required.  Outings are 4 to 5 hours.

13 August 2009.  To: Canoe Adventures -

Dear Flick and Phyl and Dell - From the "Shaldon" mob - a huge thanks from us all - we were really chuffed with the evening. More than lucky with the weather and the serenity, ghost stories, owl singing competition and trying-to-spot-the-Perseids-shooting-stars all made for a perfect evening. What a lovely valley the River Dart makes? Thank you.

 Regards Kim

The Voyagers go out for 4-5 hours, including stops, work with the tides, and return to the same spot.  Bookings can be made By-the-Seat for smaller numbers, and By-the-Boat or boats, for group enquirers.  Advance booking is recommended and welcome.  Last minute bookings are also accepted !
